    DJing Track selection vs Dj'ingTechnic

What do you think is the most important thing for a DJ to have?

I believe in a healthy balance, but track selection and flow would be more important than the mixing skills...

Please don't spell it like the turntable. The word is technique.

And all the best tracks aren't going to help you, if you can't mix them correctly and make them flow right to where they have maximum impact.

the mixing is just as important as the tracks, atleast to those that can tell what a dj is doing.
If a mix is sloppy or the tracks fall off each other at the end of the transition, it breaks the flow and consistent rhythm of the sound, creates a setback in the overall set and sometimes can make it feel like you are starting over.

The mixing techniques is Important, but if u have a good ear's and can make a good track selection for a DJ set u might start DJ'ing with DJ software, its much essayer to improve your skills on DJ software.

If you are asking this because you are thinking "I've got heaps of cool tracks but I don't know if i mix well enough to pull it off" then it's your lucky day. Track selection is king. Most punters are too drunk, stoned or muddled to hear your corrections. The amount of times I have got off the decks and gone "man did you hear how I stuffed that mix between track x and track y?" only to get genuine blank looks is too many to count.
