    Should humor have limitations?

Ok, I'm not known here for my subtle sense of humor, I think everybody's gonna agree. But really, how far can you go?

A few days ago, I spotted a flick on Youtube where stand-up comedian Hans Teeuwen owned a couple of stuck up muslimas who invited him to the show in an attempt to bash him for making fun of them and their religion (Teeuwen shits openly on every religion btw, not only on islam). For those who understand Dutch: klikkie

One of the points he made was that in a free society you should have the right to mock everything. And that's what he does: he makes fun of religions, mentally/physically handicapped, gays, ..., just about everything. On the other hand he said that as a result from that people are bound to get hurt sooner or later. So what? Live with it.

Totally agree: live with it. Why is it that this or that joke is politically correct and another is not? FUCK THAT SHIT! In political correct terms you could even say

Or to conclude with something another stand-up comedian, Alex Agnew, once said in his show: "I fucking hate jews... Nah I'm kidding, at least those guys can take a joke."

There are heaps of jokes I wouldn't tell myself [ and not just because I'm crap at telling jokes! ], but I still laugh at them, and I suspect a lot of people are the same. I laughed at the jewish joke

I don't find people getting damaged funny though.

for me, the only limitation that humor should have is that it has to be funny

my wife and i love every time when a comic takes it too far and pushes the boundaries of comedy.

Please do Jenks, I'm all ears

Some time ago I used one of Hans Teeuwen's jokes when I visited friends. It went something like: "You know what I think is hilarious to do? Well, you go out and buy a dead baby somewhere. You put it in a crib and call a babysitter. And then when you come home at night you go like: "So, did he keep a bit quiet tonight? Ah ok, Lemme see... Huh? Well goddamnit, he's completely dead bitch! Just look at him, he all blue like a fucking smurf bitch! Oh now you're gonna start crying, you cunt? You can stick that 15 euro up your ass. HA!" DUDE THAT'S FUCKING HUMOR! HA!"

Oh I forgot to mention this was at a baby shower

I think that it is cool to tell jokes about stuff that people can help/choose to do/believe in etc, but jokes about physically or mentally disabled people for example are a different story. The suffering and sadness that the individual in question and those close to them must have gone through overtakes anything that could be interpreted as funny for me..

            Other than that, fire away...!!

Andy, check out this piece from Alex Agnew (the guy from the jew joke in post 1). It's about a microphone specially designed for Stevie Wonder's special needs. But sometimes that mic caused a little technical problem (fast forward to 0:22 and piss your pants)

Now what was that about people with handicaps?

Hans teeuwen is very over the top, totally over the top actually but it's so over the top that it becomes funny,
I believe you can laugh with anything as long as its obvious it's a joke.
so bring it on i say

I totally agree. This aspect has nothing to do with PC, it's just disgusting and wrong. I'm not one to tell people what to laugh at or whatever, but I lose total respect for comedians that go down that road. Thats just me. Other than that, laugh your ass off.
