you mean buy them right? kanye is a pompous jerk, but i do like his music it is catchy and i want to hear how this sounds, i hope he keeps up his streak of good cd's, i liked his first two discs.
not sure what all the "he's a douchebag, arragont, etc." talk is all about. If i was a nobody and used my style and swagger to propel me to the upper echelons of the music industry and was at sold out stadium status, i'd be a bit "arragont" and "douchebaggy" too, ESPECIALLY if i can sell more records because of it which = more money. This is the game people, publicity is money, at the end of the day its all entertainment , but when your on stage you have a image to uphold.
so to sum up kanye west i'd say dope producer - good ear for samples - shit rapper - knows how to play the media like a fiddle - baller as hell - plays his role and does his thing. Don't knock the hustle [ms]er's

and that is why he's so effective, you can see just from this thread that his arrogance gets to people and thats the whole point, "i'm kanye, i'm the hottest producer ever, i'm the music industry saviour, better than anyone else who's done it" next album "no one can touch me, bow down to my amazing beats, i'm on roc a fella bitches" next album "oh shit, i was just drunk and high on fame, i'm really a down to earth dude, still a little arrogant but not nearly as much as i was" . Its not hard to follow the trajectory here, like i said this shit is entertainment and people take it personally "fuck this dude, he's arragont". I just think it would be cool if some people here could just check some new shit out without preconceived notions based on some scripted career for someone, cuz good music is good music and kanye west makes great music.
well i dont fall for that shit, i am going to listen to his next cd because i thought his first two were good, but you are right, there will def be talk about his new stuff because of all of his comments from katrina etc, plus the nice new PR stunt he has going w/ 50 cent. good work on his part. lets hope the new cd is just good imo...
yea id figure lots of people here would bag on him, but hey there is more music out there than EDM. yea he is cocky and arrogant, but it is working. people know who he is and they go out to hear his stuff to see if what he is saying is true about himself. the thing i like about him though is a majority of his tracks especially on his new album isnt about i have this much money and fuck them hoes...crap like that...his stuff is true hip hop.
and to those who are going to check out his new album, i will say you wont be disappointed...i myself cant stop listening to it.
oh yea he also has a collaboration on one track with Chris Martin, very good track, with Martins touch of the piano and his vocals.
rap has been sucking for years. buying pretty much any rap you hear nowadays is like sucking corporate dick.
there's been a few cool underground mcs like mf doom, immortal technique, and a few others that have come to light in recent years but they are such a minority in today's "ringtone rap" world.
