                Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

I don't have much sympathy for record companies bleating about falling revenues and staff cuts when they pull stunts like this. Who is going to buy a CD upon release when they know that a 'new improved' version will be along in a couple of months...? And don't get me started on the BPI in the UK suing CDWow ....

The vinyl version doesn't even have four more Involver tracks - you get two more and two remixes that have been around for ten years. There will probably be another vinyl release in a while a couple more...

                cheers, RH

                    Re: SASHA INVOLVER vol.2

I think Involver is good and would much rather DJs took their time and gave us something worth the wait. I'm all behind Sasha, Richie Hawtin, James Zabiela and the others who are pushing beyond the 'pile of 12"s and Protools' compilations. It's the marketing of it at GU I think is the problem.

                    cheers, RH

I agree that it's much better when the DJ puts in the time to make something original. Still, give GU the credit they deserve, they really revolutionized the mixed cd market, and have offered some really solid releases. They have stuck to their original formula, and you can't blame them for it. Besides, not everyone knows about [ms] (thank god)

My brothers got me a poncy signed pillow pack when he played 3-Beat records ... now I have an excuse to buy Involver without all the gay packaging.

Pity [ms] got rid of the auction page ... I could have flogged it to another board-member (that is, if there are any other Simon's here !).

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
