As the days get shorter and the Summer draws to a close the parties become nostalgic and crowds gather to welcome the cold. Now at ease within their new bi-monthly home of Cargo, Go!Zilla continue the quest to fuse the buzz of live, DJ and electronics in their best possible platform uniting musical styles to bring pioneering, quality music to the dancefloor.
Jay Shepheard is a new addition to the Munich-based Compost Black Label imprint with his debut ep. leaning toward warm, retro, vintage electronic sounds. He has already gathered support from the new across modern electronic music spectrum including Joris Voorn, Ben Watt, Prins Thomas, Timo Mass, Laurent Garnier and Tobi Neumann. This is one of the first samples of Shepheard?s live set promising to introduce his new material and establish him as a new force within the scene.
586 will also perform live to coincide with their new single ?Rags & Tags? which has received critical acclaim from NME and Drowned in Sound and support from Rob Da Bank, Steve LaMacq and MTV2. 586 Deborah Coughlin and Steve Horry who write songs about money, paranoia, monkeys, guilt and small town warfare to indie-pop tunes with a bible of disco dilemmas and punk politics. Compared to The B-52?s, The Long Blondes and Arcade Fire, a performance from all five members is, at the very least, the most interesting of any new band around.
Will Saul brought Simple Records to light almost five years ago and within that time has established it as one of the most respected and supple labels within the scene. Saul?s style is unique and reflects the label?s ethos of organic and adaptable sounds and welcoming him to the decks marks a special Go!Zilla to mark the launch of the next Simple single from our resident James Priestley.
Priestley?s debut release ?Chariots? (co-produced by Priestley and Dan Berkson) on Simple Records coincides with this soiree so come down to share the unofficial launch and celebrations. Support also comes from Johnny Hiller from Lasermagnetic playing a Cosmic/ Balearic set. Cargo have granted a late license for this more dancefloor-based episode of Go!Zilla to embark deeper into those approachingly dark nights.
