Dude you are cracking me up!!! ..."the loonie"

oh and on a separate note, currency appreciation is generally a double-edged sword
Your manufacturing companies reliant on export sales will now suffer because your products will be relatively more expensive to foreign consumers! You'll have to downsize and reduce profit margins to maintain competitiveness AHAHAHAAA

we export $60 billion more a year than we import (even with todays currecny values), while the US imports $760 billion more than it exports. the appreciation of our currency helps our economy much more than it hurts, as our major export is oil, which is not exchange rate dependant and gives oil companies a bonus due to currency translation effects on the income statement. we'll be just fine with our loonie worth more than your greenback. (and its called the loonie because the one dollar coin has a loon on it, which is a beautiful bird found on lakes here).

I was hoping no one would mention the oil part. DAMMIT

So fine, have your appreciating currency and your strong economy! I'll sit here on the other side of the border, burning my weak dollars for warmth and taking comfort in the fact that at least a currency named "the loonie" sounds a bit funny

from a linguistics perspective, the Canadian usage of the term "eh" is regional. in other words, the "eh" users are from the Prairies region (east of the Rockies, west of the Hudson Bay).

as for geography, you americans are on your own.

gotcha... they must have been in the regions you speak of such as, and for example and the hudson. because us americans dont have maps, for example the iraq.
