Uploading files to merc server FTP

Back with Merc Server 1.0, you could upload promos, demos etc to the FTP as a way of contributing to the community. Is that no longer an option? I've searched far and wide and can't find the thread that used to describe the process. thanks!

there are some, but you really pay a lot more money for them. You can contact the 3dxhosting ... they seem very supportive of this community. Their contact link is at the bottom of this forum.

It moves so it is really hard to miss it. =P

Write them an email, and let them know what you want. I am sure they will make you a great offer.

        Cheers.

There is no public FTP info anymore as we received too much...uuh well not that special sets. Double triple four time the same sets and also Trance sets and other disgusting uploads . If you have something really special which is not available anywhere else already, contact a mod directly. If you want to upload a bedroom DJ promo, just rent some server space and host it on your own like the other jocks on ms do with success.

Re: Uploading files to merc server FTP

                Thanks guys.

You can also send me a PM if you are interested. There are costs associated with hosting, but I'll be glad to go over them with you.

Music files do take a lot of space and bandwidth, which increase the costs associated with such hosting. Also, no host allows transfers of illegal music files (shared w/o permission of authors).

Re: Uploading files to merc server FTP

i sense some sarcasm in these replies along the lines of "get your own sever space; we're not hosting your bog mix" - I have my own server and in fact posted our new promo mixes up here about 6 weeks ago and received great feedback. The reason i enquired about uploading mixes to the FTP is that it was previously listed as a way of "being a contributing member of the community." I figured you were getting way to many crappy mixes (i for one uploaded my April Proton Digital Cure guest mix; maybe you liked it or maybe you didn't) and that's why the ftp post was gone but just wanted to be sure. thanks for clarifying

I'm not trying to freeload, just trying to be a "contributing member of the community."

                  FWIW

                  cheers

Re: Uploading files to merc server FTP

i figured people on a music board would be more interested in listening to music than reading posts. my mistake.

probably 70% the post of this board are about music, that works for me.

the other 30% makes me laugh, think, get angry, or just help me killing time, and i like it

i have nothing to say about you as dj and not even talk about your sets since i've never had chance to listen yet, but i'd love to. wether you get a hosting or you giving the set thru slsk.

                        peace

it's all good in the hood; i've been a member of this group since way back in the audiogalaxy days so i appreciate what makes this a great place to be. here's the links and tracklists to a few cds you might like (first two on the house tip, last one has some more twisted dark stuff).

                          feedback is always appreciated! enjoy!
