    Re: DJ Three?

    DJ Three Biography:

    Name: Christopher
Monikers(s): Second Hand Satellites, Three AM, Montage Men.
    From: Floorida, USA.

Three has quietly and steadily earned the respect of his peers the world over through a handful of truly unique productions and a signature DJing sound spanning through all things house, techno and beyond. This sound, a strong knowledge of tradition capped by a fondness for the cutting edge, continually puts him through a variety of tour dates that show not only diversity in audience, but a genre-bending passion for good music. A long time fixture of Florida's legendary Simons and a former resident at Twilo in N.Y.C., guest spots have seen him through San Franciso's notorious Wicked Crew party, London's Fabric, Bedrock, KISS FM , and off-shore to Mexico, Peru, Costa Rica, Pacha in Buenos Aires and South Africa.

Echoing his wide tastes as a DJ, the unique sound of his productions has captured a not-so-common cross section of DJ's ears from deep house to techno, and all things in bewteen.

Three was soooooooooooooooooooo good at Fabric about a year ago. It was one of the best sets, if not the best set, I heard all of last year. I keep crossing my fingers hoping that Fabric will book him once again!

Yeah, it was the last week of September last year. It was my first visit to Fabric, actually!!! I'm hoping that since he's touring with Sasha in the States at the moment, someone from Fabric will pick up on that vibe and book him once again! (crossing fingers and all other limbs, just in case!)

It is so nice to see Three get this much love from the board. I have seen him numerous times around the Tampa clubs. To see the recognition he is receiving world wide is awesome!

There is also another THREE mix to download in the HALLUCINATION ARTIST MIXES folder called THREE AND GRUMPTRONIX PRESENT... (here's info on that one too!):

                        -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THREE and GRUMPTRONIX present ANTENNA: BROADCAST ONE

Didn't know what time it was, the lights were low
Some cat was layin' down ( some electric soul?)
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no D.J. ?that was hazy cosmic jive!
                        Starman - David Bowie

ANTENNA: BROADCAST ONE is a mix inspired by late nights listening to radio when we were teenagers. Conventional wisdom taking hold, we just assumed other cites must have cooler music than we had. So on weekends, we'd stay up late (when airwaves were less cluttered) slowly turning the FM dial thru in-between spaces hoping to catch distant signals bearing perfect beats. There was a certain excitement to hearing unknown mixes of favorite songs, or more likely, songs we?d never heard before! Little did we know that excitement would one day lead to us to lives completely devoted to music. The reception was rarely clear enough, long enough to satisfy. We always hoped for more time, more clarity...more music!! Especially, when it meant being able to hunt down records because of what was caught on tape. Tapes we?d listen to on through the next week, static and all. Eventually, this obsession would lead to the discovery of radio shows in New York, Chicago and Detroit forever changing our tape collections...and lives!

So this mix was recorded in the spirit of those days. Days which unbeknownst to us were the first steps towards our phuture. Days when what we knew and - more importantly - what we didn?t know fueled our curiosity. BROADCAST ONE was transmitted via our imaginations after reminiscing days gone by. Musically we went for the beautiful, the familiar and the strange (even the static sounds surreal). We hope you enjoy the trip as much as we did.
