can't beat that. bloatware vista = $399 for ultimate is a ripoff in comparison and offers nowhere close to the stuff + stability that leopard will offer.

Anybody who purchased a Mac on or after October 1 will get a Leopard upgrade�the software is free, though shipping and handling can cost $9.95.

My copy of Vista Ultimate, that I got at a retail store, was only $180 and that was regular price. Second piece of software that I ever bought in my life so I'm not complaining.

did you buy the upgrade or the full installer ? OEMs were going for $199 on newegg, perhaps they dropped in price a tad

Btw does anyone know if Leopard will work on an older DIY desktop PC?? I wonder how it will perform on my older 3.2 ghz P4 with a gig of ram

there are some problems with specific devices such as sound boards and video cards.

why don't you just try some Linux distro instead?

It's a full version that I got back in April. Works great for me. The only complaint that I have right now is the new Underworld. I know, it's unrelated but man what a disappointment. It's not bad but it's just okay. At least Orbital went out with a bang. These guys aren't even rolling around in their wheelchairs.

Dont know what the specs on that system are (the one that dude was on) but shit everything on that was sputter free. The power of Unix eh....

Btw the part I loved most about that guided tour was the data restore thing. Incredible.
