I bought myself one last week also, cause beemer navi does not cover adriatic area yet and it sucks that you need and external addition in a car that has its own navi system
how much did you pay ?

didnt pay anything, they are the same price and so just swapped it out. Price is $699

did you get the 760 as well ? what are your impressions ? There are a few features/differences from the Garmin 660 that I'm really missing out on

1. The Garmin 760 being slimmer has a shitty external speaker. No bass and the voice cracks like crazy. I LOVED the external speaker on the Garmin 660. Solid bass (relative to its size) and no cracking.
2. The 760 doesnt come with a wall charger or carrying case. I never really used the wall charger but I did use the carrying case on the 660.
3. The 660 had a power button on the top which also doubled as the Volume/Brightness control for the unit. This was a feature I used a LOT. Now, they've dumped the volume into the menus and the brightness in the pits of the system menu and is a pain to get to (esp when driving).

The pluses of the 760?

1. Its frickin gorgeus black and slim. defo a piece of eye candy.
2. Maybe psychological but the screen looks better (even though website says its the same tech behind it)
3. It came with 2008 maps for USA (660 has the 2006 maps)
4. Menus are more "Apple" glossy.
5. Plan a trip with over 20 waypoints (with the 660, you could only add 1 waypoint)
6. 760 shows the speed limit of the road you are on.
7. On the 660, you could just drag your car around and see the surrounding region, while the 760 has it too, it also brings up an alternate menu to show you the nearest police station, gas station and a (iirc) restaurants.

Even though the 760 offers more, its taken away crucial features of the 660 that were important (for me). So I have mixed feelings about having driven an hour to make that switch. $$ wise, they were the same price and having gotten the 2008 edition maps (a $70 value) pretty much paid for the trip and even resulted in a saving of $50.

just checked the box - I have bought 650 which is the same as 660 only without bluetooth phone (have that in my car) - the difference in the price was whole 100€ for 660 and 760 was about 800€ (1.140$) - ridicolous if you ask me and wouldnt make a difference (except for the look) cause adria route has to be added in both so I got the cheaper one. I paid 714 $ for mine, not fair!
The sound is ok but I dont think I'll be listening music, I miss a male voice tho, this lady speaking is quite anoying..

Learn Turkish. I heard the turkish versions are always spoken by males because the regular turkish male does not want to be instructed from a female. Dunno if this is true though..only heard it but it's funny.

Whatever happened to writing down directions on a piece of paper? cost the same as a token to use the toilet at chuck e cheese

My friend had a navi thing on his old car, then he got a nice big fancy upgrade vehicle, but no Navi... he could not find anything after that.. lol, robots are taking over imo and making humas look a bit caveman like without them... haha
