can nero actually convert divx to svcd? do you need to buy an encoder from the nero store? or does nero 6 automatically come with this?

Do not use Nero. A lot of times you get sync problems in the audio and video, depending. I used to use this http://www.dvd2dvd.org/ for converting DivX and XviD files to SVCD. Don't let the name fool you. This app has many applications built in, the only other one you need in an Encoder. Either TMPG Enc, or CCE SP, and can convert DVD's to AVI (In DivX or XviD) AVI's to DVD's, AVI's to SVCD's, SVCD's to DVD's, DVDs to SVCDs. Pretty much anything and everything you need. Give it a go.

You'll probably have a lot to learn though. So go to www.doom9.org and go to the Forums, they have Forums set up specifically for any and every question you may have. Someone else posted www.videohelp.com which is also a great resource site for all your questions.

^ i think there's an adjustment you can make in your player to fix the delay of audio.
although i have not learned this trick yet.
