Applecare -- Worth it?

Finally got home from a long-ass road trip, and am looking to pull the trigger on a new MB today. What are people's thoughts on Applecare? Worth the $250?

In Singapore, it costs USD 349 (USD 207 without labor) to replace a Macbook's optical drive.
