Id hardly call it his spiritual home. Sasha dint really start out in Manchester. Sasha did a lot more gigs in Stoke Burnley Leeds or Mansfield than in Manchester. And considering he used to finish his set at Twilo NY on Saturday mornings at 8 am then fly back to the UK for the Festivals. I hardly think coming from Manchester is going to cripple him

He had a fucking good rest then. Airdrawndagger must of taken about 6 years. Sasha missed dates on the 1997 Northern Exposure Tour because he was working on his artist album. And the end product wasn't that great.

Well for a start Sasha's first experience of Clubbing was at the hacienda, but he first DJ ed in Bangor. And i can remember Sasha saying on many occasions and in many magazines that much as he wanted to play The Hacienda it was pretty much a closed shop (Mike Pickering Dave Haslam & Graeme Park) Forcing Sasha to play more in Blackburn.

I have no doubt that your experience of Sasha in Manchester was Awesome. But this was more down to you than Sasha. I imagine people who went to see Sasha at Twilo, Simon's. Cream, Space, Ministry or anywhere else had that same experience. It could be put down to lots of different things. The time, the place and not forgetting the drugs. If you think Sasha rolled up in Manchester and played so much better than anywhere else you are wrong.

Also Ministry aren't really responsible for as you put it simply ruining the industry. Its not as simple as that. The problems Dance music encountered were down to a lot of different reasons. DJ's wanting to much money, Clubs thinking they could save a few quid by thinking they could book lesser DJ's and thinking their nights would be the same. Even the negativity of EDM magazines building up styles and knocking them down. But that argument could go on forever.

Thanks for something fresh to chew on...
p.s. only to add to the discussion although I only listened to sasha live once... I have been to a fair number of parties in London and outside.

In my opinion parties in lesser countries i.e. eastern Europe are ssssssoooooooo much better because for an average clubber to spend 12-15 £ on a ticket is no small price...its about a tenth of what an average person earns in a month so they all want to have a good time and the energy is electrifying while in the UK everyone is used to good DJ's and have loads of money to spend...in Serbia for example Sasha, Digweed and indeed any (pardon my expression) superstar DJ is treated like a god! Only true fans go and they all know how to welcome a DJ for example I have listened to Laurent Garnier in both London and Belgrade and it was in Belgrade that he had a constant smile on his face....

I am perhaps making a mistake for saying this (as It might lead to the ruin of my little clubbers paradise as more English idiots will come like they did to Exit this year and ruin the overall vibe) but I think that some people (not all) on this forum are true clubbers who really love music and so deserve to know.

In reality the music scene is ruined because it is no longer "underground"- music festivals and many parties alike are filled with drunken spoiled teenage idiots who don’t know the first thing about the music but take handfuls of pills and jump around for 6 to 8 hours.
In my opinion the root of evil is the commercialization of the whole scene...DJ's and clubs alike are contributing to this everyday.

Think what you will but I will always prefer to go to a "shit" club in some god forsaken country in the third or 8th world rather than to the best club in western Europe...
p.s. I cant speak for Ibiza because i have not been there but it also seems to me like a pile commercialized crap.
                              The Idiots ARE Winning.
