bit late but
Ive done a new hour long mix for October featuring some of best house Ive bought over the last few years. The trend for djs to dismiss tracks that are more than 2 months old seems to be growing but more fool them.....
I did the mix as a show case for the night I am resident at in Newcastle, Habit. After an absolutely brilliant performance from Ewan Pearson last month (probably my favourite set of the year) , Novembers guests are the original hobbit of dance music, Border Community main man James Holden alongside a live set from hot shot label signing, Luke 'Fairmont' Fairley. Jake has just released his new album to some great press and his live show is brilliant. I will be doing the warmup for this one followed by a dash upstairs to play some less electronic stuff alongside former MI5 Hitman, Udders. See the Habit myspace at www.myspace.com/clubhabit for more info.
The mix starts off pretty low key and dubby with tracks from Compost and mysterious vinyl only label Mojuba before getting a shift on with a "'nu-tribal" remix by Radio Slave. Ive included a mashup of a couple of tracks that i absolutely bum. 1994 is paid a vist with a seminal jacking house classic before the mix ends on a future anthem which should bring a smile to a few faces
Marbert Rocel - Beats Like Birds (Wassermalfarbren remix) (Compost)
Nick Sole - Children (Mojuba)
Johnny D - Manipulation (Oslo)
Supermayer - Planet Of The Sick (Kompakt)
Tiefschwarz - Ghost Track (Radio Slave remix) (Souvenir)
DJ Gregory - Elle (Ame remix) (Defected)
Tosca, Swag & Voorn - Heidi Bruehl Vs Blank (SQ Edit) (CDR)
Samim - Zleep (Get Physical)
Buzz Cuzzins ft. Romanthony - Let Me Show You Love (Crooklyn mix) (Azuli)
Taho - The Hybrids (Wink remix) (Ovum)
Recloose - Can't Take It (Herbert Remix) (Planet E)
Still Going - Still Going Theme (DFA)
