Finaly The Hacker comes with a new album filled with only new productions (that's what I thought before listening to it). Pretty much all tracks on the album are by The Hacker himself , only three tracks are done in cooperation with other artists, this being Miss Kittin, Mount Sims and Perspects.
So far I have listened to this album twice just so that I can be sure of my own opinion about it. At first when I listened to it, I must say it really didnt appeal to me that much. When I listened to it for the second time I found out that there are some tracks on it that are ok, but that was all that I could make out of it.
Most of the tracks on the album have this dark atmosphere to them, while other tracks are a bit different, and I do mean a bit. The only track on the album that really appeals to me is 'The Brutalist'. This is by far the longest track on the album and in my opinion the nicest. Dark and low synths combined with acid synths with an occasional break here and there. This
track just keeps going on and on, and might also drag you along with it (emphasis on might). Another track on the album that I also find pretty nice compared with the rest of the album is 'Electronic Snowflakes'. This is a more ambient track with strings flowing through it supported by a constant set of synths and clicking high tones, which makes this track sound really dreamy. How nice these two tracks might even be, they still are nothing special if you ask me.
As for the other tracks on the album....all I can say about them is that they are nothing special. Some of them are able to make a crowd go wild on the dancefloor, but that really doesn't mean much in my opinion.
