    Australian Election

    Don't know whether anyone here cares, but I'm pretty happy about it. We now have a shiny new Labor government!!

    It's the biggest step forward for woman since they got the vote!! Our new deputy Prime Minister will be a woman, Julia Guillard , and the person that beat the previous PM in his own seat [only the second ever PM to lose his own seat ] was also a women, Maxine McKew.

      yeah I don't think anyone really cares...but I am happy for you. (at least thats something, right?)

              Its shocking how little coverage the election got in the States.

              I dont know enough about the parties to comment - but I'm glad you are happy with the result!

                  Let's put it this way . George bush lost his "deputy sheriff" in asia! Our new Prime Minister actually speaks mandarin!! As well as English of course!!

                      Ok I know you don't care. But I'm excited!! We have now signed the kyoto protocol.! One of the new ministers is an openly gay chinese born Australian woman, and she got there on merit. How good is that!! We are finally getting into the 21st century.!! We are also getting a new national fast broadband network!!
