    Judy Adams

So I was home in Michigan and saw that Paul Oakenfold was playing in town, so I figured WTF, I'll go see him since it had been ages since I have been out to the clubs. So I get there to find out that he has called off sick, but entrance was now free so we (my wife and sister) decided to stick around (plus we had eaten a pan of brownies).

Around 1am I head downstairs to this lounge part of the club and loh and behold I look to see what appears to be a 65 year old woman on the decks spinning some some amazing dark and smooth beats. Seriously, she had big poofy gray hair and reading glasses on. But she was playing awesome stuff that I don't know how to describe. Kinda down tempo stuff, but with sweet bass lines and snippets of music from the 40's thrown in? Her name was not listed on the billing, but by tracking down the group sponsoring the lounge (Paxahau.com)I beleive her name is Judy Adams. All I can find out on google is that she hosted a show on WDET (aka NPR public radio in detroit) that had over 7000 shows and spanned 30 years. She is not with the station anymore however. Does anyone know anything about her or can any of you savvy google users find out anything more on her as I would love to hear more of her stuff. I couldn't find sqaut, much less a pic or website when I searched.

    Thanks.

Imagine she has quite a catalog of records
from over the years, could be interesting.

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

        1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
        2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
        3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
        4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

^ the brownies were ridiculous. The recipe called for an ounce, but we only had an 8th, but everyone still got rediculously blown out. I still wasn't quite right the following evening.

Oh, and Judy Adams emailed me! yay! I asked for a tracklisting, so we'll see what she has to say.

^^^Cool that you got a response. Try to track down a set if you can, sounds interesting. Im suprised to hear that someone of that age and background would be spinning in the basement of a club.
