yeah but the "trance" he plays is a specific blend...unique to him and I have to say as far trance goes its great...
I don't know, even though I generally dislike trance there are some sets and songs by Oakenfold that I really like and there are some other artists that generally play/make (goa-psy) trance that I like e.g. GMS, infected mushrooms...
Its hard for me to write off a whole major sphere of music, there is always something that I might like....
    Right now I'm mixing Styx-Domo Arigato with Sasha's & Emerson's -Scorchio!
I like to try new things...at least its guaranteed to amuse me...
So...to cut the story short...apart from trashy euro trance I woulden't be quite to write of the whole genre...

p.s. how do you download of that site???
I tried and I klick download and nothing happens "save as" offers to save a HTML???
    What to do?

^ was that his last tour? I saw them when they dropped in on indianapolis, which, for context was the same weekend i flew to san fran to catch nick warren and zabiela on seperate nights. I didn't stay long, but Oakenfold was having trouble mixing. I left there thinking....he will NEVER be the same again....yet I find myself changing this opinion.

Per his choons...his old stuff used to be amazing.....but now, there's a few tracks that I don't like too much. He does still work in some classics like The Fade. I could go without some of the vocals but, whatever. Obviously his tastes have changed. I would like Sasha to spin the stuff he was playing back in 99, but he's changed as well.

Perhaps it's just that the mere quality has changed. Some of those older tracks were just gritty-as-fvck. not so much anymore...

anyways, good to see such responses on here. mostly objective that is and not just blatant dismissal...
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

i use to like oakenfold like 5 or 6 years before, maybe more, but i listened to some sets he broadcasted on his show the last copule of years and it's just awful.it's like the set takes you nowhere.no meaning, just tracks mixed in no particular order, like a cheesy party all the time.looking at the tracklist on the 12\08 set and i'm guessing it's the same.old tracks remixed and a bunch of semi-new tracks that dont say nothing to me
i think i'll pass oakenfold for good, i'll stick to good old digweed
oakenfold is a lost cause for me
