Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause
Club of Millionaires
Three tracks from US-German duo
This duo caught my ear with their excellent track 'Blow' earlier this year, that I used on our Four:Twenty Recordings 'Music:02' mix CD. Avoiding the nine-minutes-sprawl so beloved of many house producers these days, part of this duo's appeal is their ability to get the point across quickly. 'Gotham Nights' is a five-and-a-half-minute tech-house roller that quickly takes you a murky, slightly sinister place and maintains that level throughout. Similarly arranged, "Garam Masala" launches straight into an energetic early-hours groove that's as hot as the namesake spice. Halfway through, an incessant nu-trance melody comes sliding in impressively, and the pair utilise their trademark breakdown tool - stripping down to only the melody. Impressive stuff. Final track, 'A Stroll Through Central Park' is on a downtempo tip.
Thanks for checking out the review and tracks!
