    It would have had to be Jackson or nothing. Doubt if the LOTR fans would accept a replacement director. Wonder how much they settled on for him to shoot the Hobbit.

    WTF, he's not directing it? They settled on 40m just for him to produce, and Sam Raimi is directing?! Hope this doesn't turn into an epic musical of prancing hobbits.
