The bringthebeats Artist of the Year goes to a collective of young DJs / producers spread across the globe. The Discoteca crew of Tom Morgan, Dana Berquist, balErik and Somnus Corp. provided the best music of 2007 in our opinion.
This collection of Feedback DJs have come together to form the Discoteca label, and in the process taken the underground scene by storm. Their productions, remixes and edits are being used by all the top progressive, house and tech-house DJs on the planet and their promos have flooded the boards with widespread acclaim.
Their music is in constant rotation in our stereos and it’s only a matter of time before the entire scene knows these passionate talents by name. Erick Prydz’s decision to make Dana his personal warm-up DJ for his North American tour is proof that it won’t be long before that’s true.
Here’s a collection of the promos that stood out for us. It’s tough to say they’re the best they released in 2007, as there are many sick, sick sets to choose from. But these four caught our ear most recently and we’re sure you’ll love them just as much as we do.
