    ..And Kerry takes the lead!

In the first post-debate poll, looks like John Kerry's got the lead, 49-46

Betcha after the VP debate it grows even more.

Good for Kerry, he needed a boast and I think he deserved it after the debate.
Too bad Edwards is going to get beat-up like a rag doll by Cheny.

^^I'm not so sure about that. Cheney isn't exactly the best loved guy, even amongst conservatives, and Edwards will have plenty to talk about with Halliburton and all. Cheney is starting out in a hole, IMHO...

the good thing is that the next debate is already this Friday, so any "lead" may or may not last very long...

As for the Friday debate-- now that one will be interesting. It's the Town Hall debate, where average citizens ask the questions, though a moderator has to approve them. It's on domestic issues, which is where Bush is really the weakest, and the town hall format is also where he is weakest. If you remember in 2000, the Town hall format was the one where he really stumbled.

Hmm.. what exactly would lead you to this conclusion? Edwards is an accomplished debater, and excellent in front of an audience.

"I can't imagine two human beings that are more polar opposites than John Edwards and Dick Cheney," said Alan Schroeder, a professor at Northeastern University and expert on presidential debates. "I see Cheney as this dour character who exists on the dark side, with a sense of suspicion and almost paranoia about him, and then you've got the sunny optimist Edwards, who was very reluctant to criticize his opponents in the primaries, never went negative, and had a message that was serious but not the least bit paranoid. There is so much that's different in their personalities and their politics; their debate could be an unpredictable, volatile mix of elements."

I missed the first one because I was stuck sitting in a train which I could've outrun. But I'm hoping to catch the second one.

Here, they showed us only a few answers in some shows on the news, but the soundbytes they gave don't represent the debate as a whole I think. Too bad.

Problem here is that the "lead" didnt get Al Gore anything but much fatter and richer.

Worthless that Kerry has taken the lead.

It?s a subjective poll, i?m ppl have made their minds up from the media coverage after the event, not from watching the debate themselves.

I would like to see a pole solely from people who saw the whole debabte.

and what would that poll tell you, genius?

the only thing that matters is who wins the election, not who wins the debate.

that poll would tell me who made the best impression on the night, not who watched CNN or FOX and parroted back the views FOX wants you to believe.

Lets not forget FOX decided who won the last election, not [you]

Yes you are right all this debate crap is meaningless. 3rd of novemeber, we will all see who the winner is.

in interesting news, the New York Times is reporting that registered voters in many states have been record highs, including some key swing states.

Hopefully that means they get to the polls as well...FYI in MANY areas, your chance to register or change your registration if you moved closes within the next week or 2, so don't delay!
