DDD
DDD had an amazing 2007 and the last party at The Key was a fitting tribute to a great venue (I say this with a solitary tear running down my well-crafted cheekbones).
There’s no time for sentiment in 2008 however - just time to cram in some even better nights with the support of you lot and your fancy footwork. As we are technically homeless I have toyed with the idea of asking Aunt Rita to knock through the wall in her dining room and get rid of her 70’s sofa and antique sideboard to make room for 800 people and temporary cloakroom. Sadly though she has recently died and her house has become the second largest crack den in London. It’s what she would have wanted…
Like I said though – there is no time for sentiment in this business and we have ruthlessly decided to spend my inheritance on a crowbar and some disco lights. We will be squatting in various venues around London next year some big, some small but always perfectly formed! The first party of 2008 will be at Hewitt Street Car Park a newly discovered gem in the heart of Shoreditch and a venue that is quickly becoming more in demand than Pete Docherty’s dentist.
For our first shindig of we have provided a line up which has been designed to help you loose the excess baggage gained over the festive season.
Room one sees Daniel Stefanik headline. Fans of Daniel will be aware of his consistent quality minimal, dubby, deep cuts on labels such as Moonharbour, Dessous and Vakant. He’s recently been busy playing all the main spots in Europe such as Circoloco and Weekend club Berlin. We look forward to adding the name DDD to his already packed diary.
Co headlining we welcome Versatile records, Chateau flight. It’s been busy year for French duo Gilb’r and I:cube mixing Get Physicals already renowned body language series, and knocking a number of releases out on their ever reliable Versatile imprint, Syncrophone and Innervisions. All of which have been a main stay in the box's of Baker & Morell for some months.
Simon Baker jets in from his recent tour of Australia to join original resident Simon Morell to complete the main room line up. And everybody’s favorite record emporium Phonica take over the controls in room 2 with main honcho Simon Rigg being joined alongside shop rat’s Ryan Shaw and employee of the month Ben aka Skull Juice. Expect a mix bag of quality underground shenanigans!!
There will be 50 £8 early bird tickets for this event get on these quick as no doubt they will sell out fast.
