Re: 3Way-SLI
Now that's something. 3x 8800 GTX Ultra which gives you over 2 GB GPU Ram but on the opposite you suck up 550w in idle mode already. I agree, a humongous screen would be better than the 3 screen setup with the borders being too visible. A room for this with a nice 7.1 speaker system, a couch and a fridge and I would spend more time than healty for me in it for sure.Comment

Re: 3Way-SLI
Nvidia G9 series! There are rumors that nvidia will release it's G9 series by March 2008. It has been argued that the 9 series high-end with all new G100 core - 9800 (GTX/GTS/GT versions eventually), should be 2x faster than 8800 Ultra. Moreover, it is estimated that the top 9800GTX will cost about 549-599$ and the lowest 9800GT about 449$.

Re: 3Way-SLI
Why can't they just make parts that can handle these games properly without having to combine multiple sets? Seriously. Marketing at it's worst has it's stronghold on the company. Hoooray for money.Comment

Yeah. He spent a pretty penny but what's hilarious is that he went with an Ultra PSU.Comment

Re: 3Way-SLI
amen. you could easily spend 5-6 grand on a system that runs like dog shit with this game alone. no wonder why some people go with consoles.Comment

Re: 3Way-SLI
I will never get a SLI, not to speak of a three way SLI. As Beanz said, make one card and don't make me waster more power for my PC than the nuclear plant in the neighbor town. If you can't put out a card that's AT LEAST twice as fast as the old one, don't release a new generation. For me, the smalles 8 series GForce should be faster than the fastest model of the previous 7 series but that's by far not the case. People with no clue buy a Gforce 8 series card and think they have something but in fact the card may be slower than a cheaper one from the one and a half year old 7 series. Bullshit marketing imo. Release models after models so nobody has a clue anymore what all the additions in the models mean..GT..GTS..GTX...GE WTF.Comment

That's fucking awesome that you have to build a nuclear plant to play crysis.Comment

Re: 3Way-SLI
Even with 3way-sli, you won't be able to play crysis @ max settings. So building a tri-sli with the current hardware available (8800 ultra or 3870X2) is a total waste of money. Even though I already bought an 780i mobo, I'll wait to see the benchmarks of the new Nvidia GPU and act accordingly.
