In a broad sense, I generally couldn't care less about the lives of celebrities. Their activities affect me zero, and I find the media's obsession with them ridiculous. With that said, though, I have to confess that for a bit there, I was beginning to get drawn into the drama regarding Britney Spears' antics -- it was just such a trainwreck, it was fascinating.
At this point, though, I've got to say, I can't watch anymore. It's progressed past the point of a bizarre sideshow to watching someone totally lose their grip on reality and spiral towards death.
I had been thinking this already, but this article hit the nail on the head -- it's about a paparazzo who quit out of concern for her safety and the safety of others. Interesting read, IMO.
Don't misinterpret this as me taking a page from that sobbing "Leave Britney Alone" dude. This chick is going to die, though, seriously. It reminds me of when Oliver McCall had a nervous breakdown in the ring against Lennox Lewis -- it's just uncomfortable to watch.
