22/02/08: Nuestra Casa @ Turnmills, London: PETE GOODING/SISTER BLISS/TALL PAUL

We are absolutely over the moon here at Nuestra HQ, as we have been asked to host the amazing T2 room at über-club Turnmills, on Friday 22nd February. It’s easily our biggest night to date, and you are cordially invited to come and join us for a boogie to celebrate :-)

Such a mammoth occasion would not be complete without a fittingly huge headliner, and we're delighted to have snagged a DJ we've been dreaming about booking since the day we started Nuestra Casa - it's house music megastar and Ibiza legend Pete Gooding!

Pete Gooding has long been synonymous with Ibiza, and has been best known for his residency at Cafe Mambo where he's been behind the decks there for eight hours a night for the last 10 summers. In 1996, 3 years after he started DJing, he landed his Mambo residency through old school friend Steve Lawler, and the following year released his first award-winning Cafe Mambo compilation. He's since released seven more of them through Neo, Sony, React, Defected and all have received rave reviews.

2002 saw him scoop Best Ibiza DJ at the prestigious Pacha Awards. Pete Tong's Essential Selection confirmed Gooding's role as an Ibizan institution by adopting Mambo as its spiritual home, and made Gooding a fixture on Radio One's various summer broadcasts, where he also played on shows for the likes of Danny Rampling and Seb Fontaine.

But if you've ever set foot on La Isla Blanca, or heard him at his countless UK and international gigs, you'll know his musical clout extends far beyond chillout or obscure ambient electronica, and he has developed his sound to fit peak time, main room gigs. In fact, he was recently offered a residency by the mighty Renaissance, which he still holds to this day. Needless to say we’re very excited about bringing Pete’s balearic beats to the Nuestra dancefloor!

We will also be welcoming back Nuestra favourites Parish Beats, who really turned heads with their epic set at our first birthday in December. Their versatility and enthusiasm behind the decks, backed up by their near-encyclopaedic knowledge of dance music make them worthy additions to any bill. You can download their most recent mix by right clicking here and choosing 'Save Target As'.

And of course, it wouldn't be a Nuestra Casa party if the BroKen DJs weren't in attendance. Fierce champions of the 'Disco-Prog' house sound, these likeable lads from the East Midlands are really starting to make waves in the London scene – come and find out why!

Rounding off the evening (or should we say morning) in fine style will be Nuestra residents and regular DJ duo Oliver James & Cosmique. Expect infectious basslines, soaring synths, vocals and maybe a few of their own cheeky remixes thrown in for good measure :-) Right click here and choose choose 'Save Target As' to download Cosmique's brilliant mix that was featured on the Loop Music Show, broadcast 17/01/08.

Meanwhile, in Turnmill's infamous main room, The Gallery presents two of its most loyal servants, Tall Paul and Sister Bliss, whilst also showcasing new talent in the shape of Simon Patterson (he of Dogzilla fame) and welcoming with open arms one of its regular guests, Christopher Lawrence.

        Hiya!

Everyone at Nuestra Casa would like to a say a huge thanks to everyone that made it down to Turnmills on Friday. Our room was jumping pretty much as soon as the club opened at 10.30pm right up until the very early hours :-) The atmosphere was absolutely brilliant and all the DJs really raised their game for this very special occasion.

We just wish Turnmills wasn't closing next month so we could get back in there and do it all again! :-(

There are a few photos from the night available by clicking here.

We are going to be taking the next few months off, but are currently planning some new (possibly outdoor?!) parties for the summer months so watch this space!

In the meantime you can keep in touch via our DSI group page or Myspace page.

Thanks again & see you soon!
