Anyone else ever watched informercials as if it were stand-up comedy? Some of the crap they try to convince the viewer (elderly) of buying, is too f*cking funny to not watch. Like what about those knife collections you can buy 4,000 knives for $399.99 and get a free ninja sword.

The founder of my ex-company, Lester Wunderman, 'invented' informercials. It occurred to him to buy these unwanted timeslots in the afternoons and middle of the night and use them for these programs

was looking for one specifically where a guy is selling a sword and is demonstrating the toughness of the blade as it breaks and stabs him in the stomach. couldn't find video, but still funny. ahhh, good times.

oh yeah, the aptmnt i used to live in back in the party days only had a few channels. all of which played only rerun infomercials. i would sit there after a long nite, listen to tunes & watch tv on mute. also did that to the church channel, where they play organ music but have scenery of nature. oh the best for coming down.
