Pump Up the Volume: With Louis Mellis, Vince Lawrence, Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy. In this documentary the origin of house music is being explained. It starts in Chicago in the "Warehouse" club. This later became the Genre called just "House" because people wanted to buy music which they heard in the Wearhous. The character "Jack" which is often mentioned in house songs is also explained. Early 90s it got to England. Here the genre House splits in many different ways. Drum and Bass and Techno is mentioned. Also the rave scene is explained.

from what I read somewhere, this tv series never been released.
so, taking this into account, let see if the mods allow posting rapidshare dl links coz' i've just found them.

i saw on the video that it was a channel 4 production. And it always seems to me that Channel 4 has a lot of great stuff on it...they did all the Matt Collings art programs too...But they never seem to release any of it on DVD. Which is a DAMN SHAME.

BTW. I did convert it to DVD and it's pretty nice. Only a tiny bit of delay on the voices.

Hmmm that's a pity, would rather have a good quality version of those videos to watch on TV.

Thanks for this. Another great book I read a few years back that really gave me a better understanding on the scene, and one I would encourage eveyone to read:

Just finished watching it. Seen it before, but it's still brilliant. Highlight:
Shaun Ryder saying a whole sentence without swearing.

you can notice that there really isn't a place in the video for trance...or even for Progressive...obviously they didn't do much for talking about the recent history.

seeing how BBC never wanna release it as a DVD. I found all three parts in AVI format online, I have only so far uploaded 2 of the the 3...but here they are.
