I've wanted to dabble in the market. but never got the nerve. and in turn, have missed out more than a few opportunities.
    is that what you mean?
or are you talking about our occupations?

i call myself a semi pro trader.

I am not liable for any info here.

i used Power e-trade and last year made a fine amount of money. I am more of a gambler type, I look for new small companies that are about to crack, and hopefully catch them in the process. all stocks.

I also look for companies that create a lot of waves ... they go down and up. for two weeks i made a 1000 bucks just riding until i felt it was done.

It is your own risk, and I have lost much in companies, yet I have made a lot as well. I just started again about 3 weeks ago, lost about 300 last week, but this week i am up 230 from zero.

              o well.

i need to go to vegas.

I'm trading foreign currencies. As I was saying I started few months ago. Unfortunately, here there arn't schools to learn trading , so I'm studying from books and using google to dig the net in search of needed information ...

                good luck

study trends. that is the best advice i can tell you ...

your hunch also plays a big role, and so does luck. foreign .. i do not know enough to step out my little oceans ... that is really risky for me ... i like it.

well, forex market has a high volatily, moving 70-80 tickets daily , so ... big opportunities

also, unlike st0cks market, forex market requires a very little minimum initial account, starting even with 400-500$ !

                          Re: just curious

I used to trade with Fleet Trading (their Nasdaq market making operations- since gone the way of the Dodo bird)

Trading as a market maker is basically a joke. You have such an advantage because you can see your book and take positions against it i.e. knowing you have a buy order underneath to protect against your long or a limit sell to protect against your short. With that said, professional traders rely on volume and it dried up bigtime in 2000. Take a look at a Nasdaq level II screen and you'll see it's practically all electronic exchanges now.

You'll need an MBA to get onto the big houses' trading desks Bear, Goldman etc.

Good luck and any questions PM me.

i had a couple grand i coulda dropped on the market shortly after 9/11 when things were down a bit & a little shakey. BUT i never got the balls or went to search for information on where to start...

but instead i somewhat invested in real estate by purchasing a house.
