Had a discussion with a friend who uses cdj''s and ableton,,, no vinyl( good producer btw imo gettin there) and he told me that i should "throw" my decks cos they are useless (Technics) So i wantd to see how many of you guys still use the wheels of steel!!!!!! And see if it's worth throwing this legendary deck in the trash

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
just get serato and play off your decks. then you can play digital and vinyl on the same equipment, and have the advantage of being able to buy vinyl-only releases (though they are becoming less and less common). -
Re: Vinyl only Dj's
I got me a pair of cdj's, but I did not throw out my wheels of steel! fuck no!. Keep them and upgrade to digital.
I still love vinyl and I collect those rarities.
I invested too much in vinyl, that I wont sell my decks or my collection. They mean too much for me to replace them with money... but a whore?.. hmmmmmmComment

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
fuck no, don't get rid of your decks, you'll always wanna spin on them. They are just so nice and really do keep your mixing chops up, as it is harder to mix vinyl than cd's.Comment

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
I don't get the opportunity to play that often anymore, but I still keep the decks in my closet. Just in case I get the urge to spin some of my classics. So my answer is no don't get rid of them!Mutations presents Change The Music

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
same here. I still do all my mixes on vinyl, and even when I move on to other equipment in the future I will never just pitch my turntables.mixes: www.waxdj.com/miroslavComment

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
but as others have said.. do not toss them, whoever said they are useless is very wrong. there is A LOT of great music that still does and always will come out on vinyl.
question.. did this person ever play vinyl or has he always played digital format in some way shape or form?Comment

Re: Vinyl only Dj's
i respectfully disagree with this.. for me after playing cd's i found it easier to play vinyl.
