whoa...weird injury last night in buffalo. an awful thing to see, it's a wonder that doesnt happen more often. my brother was sitting about 20 feet from it and he said there was a trail of blood from the net to the bench that took 25 minutes to clean up. on a good note he was saved by the amazing staff at Buffalo General Hospital which i believe i sthe same that treated kevin everett's spinal injury earlier in the bill's season. crazy now i'll defiently be thinking about that next time i get on the ice.

ya it happened to a goalie about 20 years ago (can't remember the name). The skate severed his jugular, and he needed 300 stitches to get it fixed. pretty crazy stuff...

its one hell of a freak accident i'd say and definately the last thing i'd want to have on the back of my head when i get on the ice

Yeah, I don't understand why they are not required to wear full cages in the NHL. It does NOT obscure your vision as they claim. I know it would not have likely prevented this injury, but it might have, and certainly will prevent others.

because then there wouldn't be fighting. and thats one of the most popular aspects of the game.

my opinion though...they're grown men, if they wanted to wear them, they would.

yeah it was anderchuck or howerchuck, or some other chuck. he played for buffalo.

I agree they are grown men that can make their own decisions thats the risk they take every day i dont like to see shit like that but thats the risk you take glad to hear zednick is going to be ok.
