NOT!!! This mix rules. That Ralph Falcon track was beautifully done by Radio Slave...Def not the typical Ralph Faclon Miami (Space) house sound on this one...Very moody and groovy.
Robert Babciz latest 2008 mixes
Pedro Puentes' kiss mix from a few weeks back
Hernan's metrodance radio show from last week.
while those are terrific mixes, i have to disagree with you that hernans mix isn't up to par. he brings back a sound that has long since disappeared and does it with such grace that it demands attention and respect. with all the millions of tech and mnml mixes that are flooding our ear canals today, it is certainly refreshing to hear a mix that contains the best in progressive house (many of the people roots here at mercuryserver) and done so with pure class. this mix kicked my ass in the first hour and kinda lost me in the second hour, but after three listens i have grown to love this set and the complete atmosphere hernan creates within it. this is such a nice change up from the normal click-clap-slap stuff that i [also] love, but you can only hear so many slap-tap-flap's before you need a different - 'musical' if you will - sound. that being said, i urge you to light a spliff and give hernan one more listen.
it IS incredible isn't it??
STILL pumpin out great set after great set...never cheesed out, never sold out, never lost his touch..
Simply does not get any better than Hernan
The metro mixes aren't anything like a Hernan club set - this mix reminds me more of when I saw Hernan play a house set Def Mix @ Pacha in 2005. i.e. beautiful house, but with no exhibitionism or showing off, no dropping obvious peak-time tracks, just setting a vibe (dark in places) and keeping things going.
Just like Sander's EM's (and Sasha's Maida Vale) this will stand up to the test of time, rather than being dated/restricted to a particular point in time.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
You can't compare these two mixes anyway..Moshic is Moshic and Hernan is Hernan..they play completely different tracks. Moshic's mix was a studio midtempo mix (one of my all time EM favs too btw) and Hernan's mix has a very clubby and "live" feeling plastered on the whole mix.
Well said TomTom ... at least the comments made me dust of Moshic's EM (plus many other sets available c/o west ocean events).

Haven't heard the Moshic EM but his anniversary mix has been in my ipod ever since I got it. Downloading now!!

moshics e-mix is gravy pudding pie for the ears. i listened to it so many times when it came out. seems like a good time to pull it out of the archive for another gander.
This set melts together pretty well
enough for multipule listens
really moody and driving enough
but not so much to jolt the listener.
It is nice to hear a set like this in an era
of tech heaven, hopefully new sounds on the horizon.
Pretty much been impressed with all the new prog style
mixes in the promos section lately, almost forgot how nice
it use to be to hear melodies and great synth pads.

So came back last night...
Sven Vath was amazing...he played a god damn killer set...ended up going to that and came to at like 10 am in some whore house in south Amsterdam...no idea how I ended up there...friday was a bit of a blur got really drunk and visited several parties can't remember a whole lot to be honest hehe...saturday was probably the best day that I recall...started up in the nearest coffee shop and going from party to party...beautiful woman, beer and weed...finished the night by taking some shrooms and listening to an amazing elke kleijn set...sunday...i met a nice girl who worked at one of the coffee shops and ended up talking to her for like 6 hours...was supposed to meet her at some DnB party...but instead went for a steak and walked around red light district bars drinking and smoking...monday took it easy went to a coffee shop and took a taxi to airport....
All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon

Let me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
um......i've changed my mind....this set is real good. I"m not going to saw outright awesome, but i just listened to it again, and think it's better on the 3rd or 4th try around. It helps to listen to this when the sun is out too.
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky
it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

I downloaded the Moshic EM and it's great . I wouldn't compare them though. The Moshic is much more in your face! I actually think if Hernan had done his EM around the same time , it would have sounded similar! I think they have both moved on since then
