    Slipstream (2007)

Written, Directed and staring Anthony Hopkins. This is by far the best film I have seen in recent time. Its like Oliver Stone's "Natural Born Killer's" meet David Lynch's "lost highway/mullholand drive". The direction is very good, the camera and photography are both excellent, the performance of actors such as John Torturo, Christian Slater and others that u will recognize is flawless and credits the film even further.
If you watch one new movie from 2007 watch this one...that is if u like Oliver Stone and David Lynch. To be honest I was very surprised to see that it was Hopkins himself who directed this movie...the best director debut (if indeed it is his debut) I have ever seen.

Th plot is somewhat confusing but if examined at face value its about a scrip writer having to face his character as they become part of his reality and as he becomes a part of his own fiction. I think that the movie is also about the difficulty of separating reality from fiction for all those who are passionately involved in the movie business including actors, writers and directors.
I highly recommend this and I would say this could be added to my top 100 movie list.

p.s. this movie was also personally financed by Anthony Hopkins as it was necessary in order to alow him to make it the way he wanted it made. This might make it difficult for some of you guys to get it as its not a major studio production.

Sir Anthony Hopkins writes, directs and stars in a good old-fashioned "warped reality" movie. Hopkins plays a screenwriter who's revising the script of a movie called "Slipstream" as the movie is being shot. Needless to say, the line between fiction and reality swiftly blurs as characters from the movie start appearing in his real life, and we keep reliving the same scenes from different angles. It's nothing we haven't seen before in the works of David Lynch or Dennis Potter, but Hopkins keeps the action from flagging and provides a surprisingly emotional climax. Definitely worth a look if you like this sort of movie, but I don't expect to see it at too many theaters besides the hardcore art-houses
