here's an inconvenient truth for Al Gore and all the global warming hippies out there:

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on.

No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

This is supposedly the single fastest and largest temperature change ever recorded, up or down...and has largely erased all of the last 100 years of warming trends in one year.

hmmmm. so...what's going on? Where's all that global warming we were causing??

A fun fact that I hadn't really thought of before today:

The temperature in the atmosphere just a few miles up (regardless of latitude) can get down to temperatures such as -70 degrees Celsius (-94 degrees F). That's pretty damn cold.

But yes, I err on the side of believing that global warming exists, but seriously who the fuck knows?

whose to say that there must be a set thermostate temp. for this planet? and if that, what it would ideally be? The universe is indifferent to our existence. Some of those people arguing that we should be at Sunny & 75 all the time are deluded. It would be nice of course, but there's very little we can do, except for adapt.

what is funny is that the media has changed the language of Global Warming. They used to say man made global warming, now they have everyone convinced that it is man made so now they just call it Global Warming.. what a load of shit IMO.. When I heard volcano pumps out more CO2 then we do I knew it was bullshit..

right, because glaciers form in lik 100 years. Survival here is about adaptation. Nothing more, nothing less. Survival has always been a fight against Nature and whatever force it imposes that would be detrimental to life. Adapt or....

Yes and in 200,000 years mankind has innovated at the pace of a turtle. Last time I checked it would only take about a week to snow enough for a glacier to form, lets see after about 50 feet of snow, it will begin to compact itself into the proper ice pellets. Now they can move up to about 50 feet a day in extreme cases or a foot a day, but I would consider an ice age an extreme period.

Also in about 100 years we haven't been able to come up with another form of alternative fuel or in 50 years put a man back on the moon? C'mon adaptation isn't our thing buddy, leave that to the real mammals.

you know, at one point we actually did used to live in caves with no water, electricity, cars, roads, computers, televisions, hospitals, or TVs, and we had to eat raw mastadon... I mean, not many of us have grown a third leg, but for God's sake dude...take a look around yourself!
