        so I got the TV hooked up to my PC using a DVi - HDMi cable but for the life of me I cannot get the display on the screen. Using a standard VGA cable and setting the resolution at 1920 x 1084 works ok.

        Anyone know why the HiDef signal wont come on using the cable ?

        I do get display when the computer boots up and shows the hardware info but as soon as Vista is about to load, the boot procedure ends and screen goes blank.

        busted my head over this issue but unable to resolve it. sony support was as helpful as telling me "use vga" and google didnt yield anything either.

            seems the problem is RAMPANT with nvidia driviers for vista and HiDef signal devices, which not only affects TVs but also a ton of Monitors connecting to PCs via HDMI cables.

                        so I finally got the PC to work, I ended up googling endlessly and found tons of threads that seem to point to something called EDID.

                        Long story short, I have to jump through a hoop while bootup, but at least I got the HDMI cable to display on the screen..... and the image quality is BREATHTAKING
