Anybody in Tampa? May be dropping in for a visit. Used to live there several years ago, but I have no idea whats going on down there anymore. Ybor City? Something else?

November 3rd Sander Kleinenberg is in Orlando at Icon. As far as Tampa.. not alot going on.
might check out www.housedivision.com , they might have at least some where to hear decent music. Ybor is shite, though if you are looking for nice cheesy trance and break beats or hip hop, Ybor is your place!Comment

Re: TAMPA, FL
Unfortunately, hardly anything ever happens in Tampa. Danny Howells is playing on Halloween in Jacksonville, and Zabiela will be in Jacksonville a few weeks later.
I'd like to see Sander, but Icon is really a shite club.Comment

Re: TAMPA, FL
Icon really isn't THAT bad. They have 4 bars, a decent sized floor and a nice area upstairs to just chill. Granted Orlando doesn't always attract the best crowds, but I've noticed when a headliner comes to town it tends to keep the hoodlums and swarthy folks at bay. The sound system leaves a bit to be desired but face it...most of us are going to be half drunk or fucked up on something so is a little difference in sound going to matter that much? I mean we'll never see the sound systems that the likes of Space, Crobar, etc. I've come to learn very quickly in this town, the old cliche: Beggars can't be choosers! I've been bitching about noone coming into town for so long that I will tolerate a less than perfect system in order to catch a world-renowned headliner. There are a whole bunch of us going that night, you should really come over and check it out!A good shower head and my right hand - the two best lovers that I ever had.Comment

Well, call me crazy but I'd consider the sound system to be one of the top factors when considering the quality of a club. I guess I'm a little spoiled by Simon's, in Gainesville-- but Icon's sound system is pretty terrible.
I've been there twice, to see Pappa and to see Sander, and both shows were pretty mediocre. Has anything changed there in the past decent while?
If I could get some of my friends to go see Sander, I'd consider it-- but they detest Icon even more than I do.Comment

Re: TAMPA, FL
jacksonville has the best scene at the moment in florida...imo
but it even isnt that great
i wish tampa had more of a progressive scene
gainesville is ok, every once in a while simons will host an event
orlando generally blows
take what you can get is the florida scene in general right now...if you have to drive, do itComment
