    question about Go Phones

thinking about getting one of these for my two days at wmc.

can i use a phone i already own as a Go Phone, or do i have to buy the one from the store?

does anyone know how much the minute plans are?
and when you buy the phone are there any minutes already on it?

*obviously i could have googled it, but i want answers and opinions from people who have used them.

is the phone you already have one with a sim card in it, as that's what at&t uses for their phones.

      Re: question about Go Phones

I used one temporarily about a year ago. Bought it at best buy for $20. It did not come with minutes per se, but they sold the top up cards there as well. When you call to activate your phone, you use the card to add minutes to your line. There were usage plans ranging from about 12 to 18 cents a minute depending on what features and texting plans your want. The annoying thing about them is, if you don't use the minutes, so still have top up every so often to keep the line active.
It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.

          what's a GO Phone?
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

one of those phones you purchase in any retail store/outlet and pay for bulk minutes to use on the go. it's good in case you need a phone temporarily, like going to wmc.

              here is the low down.

pay as you go - 2 plans with att

              plan 1 - flat rate .25/min

plan 2 - $1/day access (if you make a call $1 is deducted from your balance, not deducted on days you make calls) all calls made that day are .10/min plus you have unlimited mobile to mobile (which is great if you know someone who has att service)

if the phone you have is att branded or unlocked gsm you can use your own phone, you simply have to buy minutes.

              minutes come in increments of
$15 (unused minutes expire in 30 days)
$25 (unused expire in 60 days)
              $50 (expire in 90 days)
              $75 (expire in 90 days)
              $100 (expoire after 1 year)

in essence, if you are going to be talking alot and know people with att service go with plan 2. if you are going to be talking sparingly the flat rate is the one to go with.

              and here

btw some retail store charge $25 for sim cards when activating a prepaid line, make sure you go to a corporate owned att store and they should hook you up for free.
