    Headphone static

I do most of my music listening while working on the computer. If there is not currently a track playing, I can hear static sounding noise in the headphones, which varies in proportion to CPU usage (or so it seems). Is there a way that anyone has found to eliminate this? (this has been the case on every computer I have owned) as sometimes I wear them just to block out noise when trying to study.

    Thanks

Yeah. Get rid of those tin cans and get some real headphones.

Go to your volume settings and mute things such as CD Audio and Line In. See if that helps.
