    311 Day New Orleans

I went and saw 311 last night along with a sold out audience at the New Orleans arena. holy fuck! i've been waiting for about 13 years to see them live and last night was nothing short of amazing. they played for 5 hours!!! playing nearly, if not every song that they have written. too many highlights to remember. at one point they left the stage and a brass band from new orleans with voodoo dancers came out and did a short set. the crowd was amazing, the sound was incredible. everyone was singing and dancing and smoking hippie lettuce. just a great night. the best part for me was when they played "applied science" which led to a long drum solo where the set rose from the sateg about 15 feet. at the end of the solo the entire band came back out and played on stand up drums to finish and went back into the song. i have so many great photos on my phone but no idea how to upload them.

i've seen them a bunch and they never disappoint. i had a ticket to go to 311 day, but i couldn't because of work. i had at least 10 friends that went and they just got home last night. they were fried, no surprise. all i heard were good reviews, so i'm a little disappointed i didn't get to go.

i was curious if anybody on this board would have attended. glad to hear you had a good time, duff. my fave live song is always stealing happy hours. something about that song just takes me away.

Daum, 5 hours. that would have to be almost all their catalog...seeing as how their tracks are never more than 4 minutes and a lot of them are under 3.

I might just try to go see them in columbus this time. I enjoy listening to them, i notice that when I do listen to them i tend to have a nicer day.

                        311 always get down
but a 5 hr show would have
                        been a total throwdown
would be great to get a audience pull
                        of that night.

All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon

So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:

                        1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                        2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
                        3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
                        4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
