Yeah that little rectangle in his back wasn't a "wrinkle." He can barely walk and talk at the same time and he's the leader of the free world. I am amazed we are all still alive.
What are trying to say here, that the President was telling this voice in his head - who you claim was there to help him - to shut up? In an argument that already makes no sense, this is even more ludicrous. Why would he tell his own help to keep quiet? Instead of telling this mysterious voice to quiet down, perhaps the President was trying to prevent the moderator from cutting him
While i will agree it doesnt make alot of sense that in the 21st century they would need to tape a big box to his back there is one problem with your theory. According to the article quoted on this site, Bush said that 60 seconds into the 90 second time alotment (i dont know if this is true though) and there were absolutely no warning lights appearing in the video.
The 'let me finish' quip was clearly bush talking to ( probably Rove) in his earpiece- saying let me finish before you give me the next answer. He blows it 60 sec into his 90 sec reply- so no warning lights had gone off and lehrer had not motioned for him to end as he had plenty of time left.
And the fact that there is a big box on his back may be necessary in some way because he isnt using a conventional 70's technology wire to earpiece.
I mean do you really think with all of the incredibly stupid things bush has said over the years that you would be surprised if they tried. Its not just Bush's job thats lost if he loses this election. I would be absolutely horrified if my job for the next 4 years depended on George Bush's debating skills.
In anycase we'll probably never know, it could very well be a wrinkle in his shirt and people may be overreacting. But man open your mind a little bit. Try not to believe EVERYTHING your government tells you. That's a far more dangerous attitute to have. Thats the kind of attitude that makes it so easy for people in power to lie.
Dont you think in the 21st century with our high level of intelligence the govt would have a smaller more hidden device, say a wireless earbud, that no one would ever see. I see the lump, who knows, just doesnt jive with me.
I admit, Bush isn't the best debater. Some people are quick witted and some are not. Does the quick witted get the award over a scholar. I don't think debate tactics and skill is the only thing a candidate should be judged over. Why not read the debate, judge the words and statements for what they actually say vs. the way they were delivered.
I think the problem is over substance. Bush delivers the truth ineffectively, and Kerry delivers BullShit without truth or substance. He only says what his side wants to hear. He was a debater in school and has alot more practice.
Have any of you ever stood before an audience or crowd and withstood BullShit attacks on you personally? Have you ever had an aurgument with someone and knew they were lieing but you drew a blank mind and didn't know how to put it into words? Did that make you stupid, or human?
Come on people, look at the issues. Get off the emotional bandwagon, and think about who has the best ability to lead America. The people in the military are just as disguted with Kerry as they were with Clinton. Yet they honor (and die) for what Bush has led them to do.
Kerry has done absolutely nothing for 20 years in the Senate. He has no record, of any substance what so ever.
Bush is not perfect. Nobody is, and whoever is in the WH will make mistakes. But realize, whether you like it or not, we are at WAR. We didn't start it, and it is a war like no other. Asama declared war on America during Clintons 8 years.
This is WW4. (the cold war was WW3) It took a strong stance to bring down the WALL in Germany, and it will take a strong stance to bring down terrorism. Think about it, these are people who shoot children in the back running to their parents arms, AND make squilling 'animal slaughter' sounds to mock an innocence person while they saw off the head with a big knife.
Take this seriously people. We need strength now, and Bush has proven he does what he says, and can stand up to the pressure of the world, even if he cant debate well or defend lieing attacks with the best answeres.
Use your head, not your heart. Your heart can lead you astray. Think about the mistakes we have all made in past fallen relationships, where we followed an emotion from our heart, and said or did something unwise, and maybe later regretted it. Emotions are a good thing, but they can lead us the wrong way without good thought.
Stop getting your political news from MTV or CNN, and the liberal left sided slanted NY Times. Seek balance, listen to a talk radio show on the AM dial and get some true debate over the issues, not the emotions.
BTW, I think you should be more concerned over Kerry's choice of a good make up artist. Look at the picture above. His blush is a bit too pink, his lips a bit too red, and not to mention how white his new teeth appear.
Just trying to bring some light to this issue over non-issues.

It's rather amusing that you throw this last line in there, considering your entire philosophy is taken directly from Fox News. You essentially recreated the entire Republican talking points-- Bush is a great leader, everything that has gone wrong in the last 4 years is Clinton's fault.
Nahh, I don't believe he was wearing an earpiece for one second. Even rockstars use smaller devices when playing their guitar, and they strap it on their belt.
I can't imagine Bush's advisors would be stupid enough to tape some box-like thingy to his back, of all places. Total BS. If they did, they should've been watching more spy movies...

AM talk radio is about as far from a balanced source as you can come. The whole medium is overrun with conservative pundits (save the recently launched AirAmerica). I've said this before, but it bears mention again -- it has always struck me as appropriate that conservatives would cling to such an outdated medium to push their similarly outdated views.
If it's so completely ridiculous and asinine, then you should easily be able to point out exactly what the rectangular object in the back of his jacket actually is. Furthermore, you can explain why he said "Let me finish" from out of nowhere, when no one was interrupting him.
Finally, you can explain why the Republicans insisted that the cameras be fixed and only show straight-on shots? Restrictions which thankfully, our semi-free press ignored.
He's actually said "let me finish" at weird times in other situations. I think it might be something he uses to pull himself back on track or something. I just saw one today from a press conference, but now I can't find the link.
I doubt the pres's staff would be this stupid. It's an entertaining red herring. Nothing more. And I hate Bush. There's plenty of other valid reasons not to vote for this clown. We don't need this one.
