well, my office is across the hall from our legal department, and thats not what the guys over there are saying. from what i understand, depending on where you file the prenup, they can be pretty rock solid. ie. whats mine before the marriage is still mine, anything i earn after the marriage is split 50/50.

You say get a prenup, and I say good luck to you. There's a reason why they're called golddiggers. If you're going to get a prenup, make sure she's got a lawyer present, or the judge is most likely going to void it. I'm not even sure if they're largely recognized in the UK. (read that last line again). Even still, i would say get one regardless, because I seriously believe that you shouldn't get married unless there's been some formal agreement about assets. Not with soaring divorces rates. Not with the standard legal maneuver of "he hit me, raped the dog, cut down trees, hates people" tactic often used by female attorneys.

I have a friend who has just about everything he owns under the name of his LLC. Internal Revenue has been trying for years to get something on him but always come away empty handed. he's pretty slick. That would be my recommendation.
