    Re: Your classic Essential Mix?

there was a set from sassha and diggers done here in NY before delta heavy on KTU. i have never seen it available online anywhere. it was fucking sick. tunes in it were the stephan K remix of crystal method and scott weiland, they had the hydrogen rockers remix of smoked peice, it was the first time i heard walking on fire, and so much more. the MV tunes when MV was pumping disgusting tribal.

if anyone has any clue as to this set, it would be monetarily benificial for them to let me know.

btw, after a while, those white label promo's really became popular!. There was one online place that had nothing but white labels.

I know they posted a bunch of stuff here too!! or maybe it was at GU. Was it Street Wise or Street Sound? They were really cool.

Also became popular witht the "credit" points at HOOJ when they were selling promos.

I have a decent section of white label prog on my shelf. Dont really play them much... and who can forget all those white labels Oakenfold would drop during his world tour.

yes, I remember that website! cant remember the url, but I remember the "credit system"

remember going to clubs at that time too and trying to trainspot, getting a peak at the decks and being pissed of jealous when it was a white label, then seeing the wry smile of whomever was spinning, lol

Release Records was the shop that became real famous cause of all the white label promos they had. Were they also based in Seattle? or over ont he east coast?.. they were cool people.

haha yeah, .. crazy how times have changed.

From hard to find recordings of dj sests

To what they were playing / tracklistings.org???? lol

To findnig those white label, acetates

to bidding $1,00000 for them on ebay

to an abundance of online record shops

                            to exclusive promos/white labels

to downloading hard to find tracks on napster/audiogalaxy p2p

to mp3 files and new tech equipment

to mp3 download sites over the record shops!

and through all of this, music kept evolving and changing... craaaazzzyyyyyyyy!

The now defunct TuneInn records had Bedrock test pressings... That is the only way I got ahold of some gems. Plastic Fantastic, Yo shop, and many others had white labels. You had to get in there immediately or you were S.O.L!

yup, I remember all those! My other favorites were Replay Records (always had hard to find vinyl at a very cheap price; I was amazed), Massive Rec (this is were I found that Desyfer - 831 track from Oakey '99) and Hard to Find Rec; had good stuff but wayy overpriced.
