Probably the last time the two of them sounded coherent together

I loved the bit when James Holden mix of Solid Sessions - Janeiro went into Main Element - Take me down (Gwill Morris Main Mix).

I was reminded of Tong's intro where he went "Welcome to this huuuuuuuuuuge essential mix," had a chuckle back then and just when I heard it again

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

The Sander K from 2001 and Howells 2002 get constant plays from me. Think it was Sander K's that really inspired me to get DJing. The Warren one from 2001 has some shaky mixes in places but the track selection is spot on. Really takes you on a journey.

                        Others I love:

When I saw this thread, that Sander Emix was the first to come to mind. Bought the cd when it came out. Good shit, wish it would have stayed housey until the end though..

Aside from the ones mentioned (Sasha, Digweed, Sander etc. plus Hernan's recent gem) the ibiza sets from Oakey (Space'99) and Carl Cox (Space Terrace'03) are fantastic.

Also I love it when things take you by suprise - hour 1 of Gabriel & Dresden's 2003 studio mix is sublime.

Dusted off Sasha/Oakey from creamfields 1998 and was suprised how good it still is.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles
