I have bought a Nokia N73 on december 28th 2007.
It has started failing on january 16th, i took it to the service center and they said they fixed it.
Wrong... It kept failing.
The problem was the software not reporting the battery power being drained. The phone always showed 100% battery charge.
On Jan 16th my phone powered off, and I couldn't turn it on. Tried with another battery and worked. The service center took a day to repair the phone. They only did a firmware rollback, to a oldest version. That didn't go well.
On Jan 21th i took it to the service center again and they said it should take at least 10 business days to get it checked by Nokia technicians.
I agreed (I had no chance!) and they sent it.
It took them a full month to give my phone back. I was furious! I was using my old Motorola V3 in the meantime, since they only offered a shitty phone in replace for my N73 during the repair.
They gave my phone back on Feb 22th, but now with other problems. The phone has been kinda damaged. They scratched the display (well, the external case, anyway.. it was perfect when I left it there), damaged the case on the corners, where they forced to open the phone, and it has two fingerprints on the internal side of the display.
If that's not enough, when I slide the camera cover to activate it, it works 50% of the times I attempt to take a picture (If I'm lucky).
I have no idea what can I do next. I don't want to pay for a new phone, and either would like to take it to the service center again, considering they have damaged it on the first place, BUT Nokia contact center tells me it's the only way.
They make no exceptions to the protocol, no matter how hard you complain about a company not providing an adequate service level.
I have accomplished my part. I have paid for my cell phone, made a normal use (just threw my contacts, mails and calendar on it) and I've been very patient with this case.
Problem also is, they are going to spend another month trying to repair a phone that was in perfect condition when i took it, when not's my fault.
NOKIA CARES as a motto sounds a bit ironic.
The company doesn't care at all. They have outsourced the tech support and when you try to start a complaint they only write it down and don't contact you asking why are you so mad with the company.
Anyway, I have started a blog (in spanish by now, gonna probably translate it later) to expose my case, and ask other users to send me theirs to publish.
If any of you had troubles with NOKIA before, please let me know
And of course, if any of you know people that can help (inside Nokia) contact me
