Re: Letting a dog stave to death is art?
Some of the comments on the page are interesting, but I agree the artist is a sick fuck. Let's see him tie himself to a fucking post and starve to death to prove a point, instead of using a hapless dog. Motherfucker.

The guy definitely tapped into some outrage. Check out how many comments there are on that page.
Its sick and taints the art world in a bad way. Cruelty to another living organism is unethical and immoral art. Cruelty to oneself as art, while controversial, can pass muster, up to a point. But to another being, is abhorrent.I like your Christ.
I do not like your Christians.
Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

i refuse to read the article. but i can say this, anyone who does such an act for the sake of entertainment or "study" can just die. a person of such little humanism does not deserve to share the same oxygen as you and i.Comment

Re: Letting a dog stave to death is art?
I get that in a lot of third world places dogs just roam around aimlessly
without any sort of base, even if this artist was attempting to imitate
this homeless dogs life on the street leading to starvation and eventuallly death,
he should have left it on the street where the dog had probably been living
for years without fail. Now if he wanted to tie himself up and starve then kill
himself, fine, which by all the hateful responses to the article should be his
next plan of action, overall bad attempt at art imitating life. Imagine the PETA
people will be all over this guy.Originally posted by ShpiraSo came back last night...
Sven Vath was amazing...he played a god damn killer set...ended up going to that and came to at like 10 am in some whore house in south Amsterdam...no idea how I ended up there...friday was a bit of a blur got really drunk and visited several parties can't remember a whole lot to be honest hehe...saturday was probably the best day that I recall...started up in the nearest coffee shop and going from party to party...beautiful woman, beer and weed...finished the night by taking some shrooms and listening to an amazing elke kleijn set...sunday...i met a nice girl who worked at one of the coffee shops and ended up talking to her for like 6 hours...was supposed to meet her at some DnB party...but instead went for a steak and walked around red light district bars drinking and smoking...monday took it easy went to a coffee shop and took a taxi to airport....
All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soonOriginally posted by IlluminateLet me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

That reminds me of the scene with the horse from The Cell

Re: Letting a dog stave to death is art?
"Some of The Cell's scenes are inspired by works of art. For example, a scene in which a horse is split into sections was inspired by the works of British artist Damien Hirst.[1] The film also includes scenes based on the work of other late 20th century artists, including Odd Nerdrum, H. R. Giger and the Brothers Quay.[1] Many aspects of the killer's "dream sequences" bear resemblance to the imagery used in Mark Romanek's music videos including Nine Inch Nails "Closer" and "The Perfect Drug" and Madonna's "Bedtime Story." Surreal images such as the victorian dilapidated machinery opening cobwebbed gates showing still vignettes of deviant sexuality, moray eels, vultures as pets moving in slow motion on perches, spinning metal hiroglyph-laden cubes with circular grainy video on each face, viscous fluid and water replacing blood, and more are all seen in both The Cell and these videos. All of this imagery draws upon the early cinematic visual style of surrealist artists such as Salvador Dali's infamous "Un Chien Andalou"Comment
