ive never even been to NYC... but you know what... who cares... the first baseball game i ever saw was a spring training game between the Rangers/Yankees and who hit the home run that solidified my obediance to the NYY orginization? thats right: Don Mattingly. He was the player that got me rooting for the NYY for a lifetime. even before they migrated to Tampa for spring training i went down to Ft Lauderdale with my dad to see them play during a different spring training where a powere line was dangling loose outside the field, but the game went on anyway. but that first game i went to i got nearly the whole teams autograph on one ball. so being a new yorker doesnt necessarlily make you a fan, just being in the right place at the right time can have the same effect. maybe if it had been andre dawson hitting that homerun back then i woulda beenn a cubs fan (god forgive me) all this time.Comment
