^ as far as I recall the ' 99 EM was inspired by Twilo + it was so well received that Diggers decided to make an official release.

We just need to persuade him to do the same with this years EM !

One of my favourite mixes ever. I recorded this on cassette tape on the night it was broadcast, and I still have it. It seems to sound a litle bit 'different' on cassette than on these mp3 rips, can't quite describe it, but I prefer to listen to it on tape! Bizarre!

Does anyone have the mix as one complete 120 minute mix? Every copy I have seems to fade out around the Xpander part and fade back in again?

I doubt anyone was ripping the Essentail Mix back then from their PC. I reckon most of them where tapes that where ripped later. do you have the version with Tong talking over the top of it or the version without voice overs?

This set is very similar to his first comp. on Bedrock.
many of those tracks were included in that cd.

I have the Tong version. Love the bit in the breakdown of Science Dept where Tongy says 'You're listening to the essential mix.....tonight.....with John Digweed'. Timed perfectly of course.
