    Omg Music Organize Heaven

Hi guys and gals just thought i would share this with everyone. Not sure if u guys know bout it, if not and want to organize and clean up your mp3's this is gonna make it fucken easy with the help of discogs ..So here goes. As some of u may know that i have been trying to organize it all and i thought to myself would it not be good to have something to from discogs where it can read and transfer the details straight away with minimum cut and paste.. And i found it.. i only just started using it like an hour ago and it works a treat.

The program gives u pretty much all the details from discogs and u have to do very little cutting and pasting. It gives u the title, artist, label, year, plus more. There is one down side though which is very small. what happened was i have 2 Jamie Jones tracks in a folder and when i did a search it was for some reason not picking up Jamie Jones in the search. So i typed his name in discogs manually and it came up with Jamie Jones (2).. so there maybe sometimes where u have to do it that way. so far i am very impressed with it.

I have organized 50 tracks cleaned them up not only the actually id tags but also the shit that comes when u download from beatport. for example 4645738static.. I use MP3tagtools to make sure all the letters are capital etc at the start and also the same program to export to Excel. And i am using this program to get the info direct to the ID tags, and i have done this in no time.. Anyway enough of me. Enjoy.. Oh and i hope u guys have not heard of this program or use it cause i am very happy to find it to help me organize the CHOONS

Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files.

There is also a forum for it here

    Happy organizing

Well I guess I've been doing it the hard way. I rename every file before I save to the external drive. It's tedious but it helps me keep my sanity.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Thanks Johns! I think this program may actually be better than mp3tag tools as it has an undo feature, which is clutch. In mp3 tag tools, if you accidentally changed the file name from .mp3 to say .p3, your file would be foobared.

                          Re: Omg Music Organize Heaven

or really i did not know that..An your welcome. I spent an hour on it last nite and i cleaned up 50 tracks.. Pretty good rate.i am sure there are quicker ways as well but i am just learning the program.

Where it says album and where it says year want i want it to do is put the label name plus the album int the album tag and where it says year instead of having just 2008 it should have 14 march 2008.. For example

                          Title: Miranda (Deep Chord Remix)
                          Artist: Convextion
Album : Matrix Records (Detroit) - Miranda (Remixes)
                          Year: 13 Mar 2007

Also the other good thing is when u close the program and restart it reads the files again without u having to pick the folder etc. MP3tagtools does not save the database. I wonder though when it reads the database again can u Colour in the ones that u have have done already?? if anyone works this bit out let me know. Ciao gonna do some work

With MP3Tagtools, under options/preferences/misc., there is an option to auto load the last directory you were working with at startup. Or, just hit "directory" and it will take you back to the last place you were working.

As for knowing which ones you have already done, I get around this by keeping files that need editing in a separate folder, once done, i move them into there "permanent" location. Once they are in the permanent spot, I know they are fully tagged and don't need further editing.

I literally feel like I've spent 2 weeks of my life organizing music

But on a good note, at least when I want to play something now I don't have to dig through my records.
