Ben Brown - Tessera/Nova
1. Tessera
2. Nova
Release date: 27th of March (beatport excl. pre-release)
Label: Deep Records 045
Release Info:
Hailing from Chicago, Illinois youngster Ben Brown is surely one to watch. He first gained widespread attention with his “Love and Solace” production on just found label Audio Logic. Then he released “City Streets” which is to be found on many playlists today whether it be his original or the Kris B & Nosmo Remix. Coming from a more trancy start of his career Ben is now hitting us with proggy house dancefloor bombs. This is no exception for his two track EP on Deep Records: “Tessera” and “Nova”. Both tracks already supported and played by Tiësto.
It’s hard to describe “Tessera” other than a big fat progressive house bastard that’s sure to drive the floors insane (as it has proven already) with its trancy influences. The continuing build in this track raises the energy levels higher and higher each time. Beautiful strings accompany a very strong fundament that consists of a melodic hook, thick bassline and fierce kick. This could be huge with dj’s all across the genre spectrum.
“Nova” is more subtle than “Tessera”, but is also destined to get things going in the clubs. The deep bass takes care of the headnodding part while in the background strings slumber to get the hands in the air when the break is there... A trancy synth joins the track to create melodic heaven. “Nova” is just the right track to come with “Tessera”.
