    S&D review Webster hall

i totally hate my life right now because i had to leave at 4 am since i have work the next day. sasha and digweed ripppppppped it. words cant really explain how amazing they were, and how well they meshed together tonight. it was a totally sober clubbing night for me too...yet every song felt amazing. do you ever have nights like that, where every single fucking song is amazing, and you appreciate every bassline, every little melody. damn and whats up with those whistle like sounds during the set, was it sasha on ableton? i must have heard it like at least 20-30 times tonight, and it sounded so damn good lol.

anyway, they played a couple of cool tracks.

    sasha - coma
    digweed - gridlock (? remix)
a thousand nights (? remix) - wicked tune

i'm betting digweed played D'Julz "Just So You Know" on Ovum.
          http://www.myspace.com/d_julz (first track there)

This was that song i described as a mixup of mauro picotto and deadmau5 at the philly gig. Allegedly Digweed said it was his best tune of the night, and I'm sure he'll be playing it through the rest of the tour...

what a night! kazell was ok. he had his moments. around midnite, digweed was on the side of the stage. some guy next to me called out his name, he shined a red flashlight on them, walked over & shook there hands. very cool! digweed came on at 1:00am & was quite uneventful for 45 mins. at 1:45am sasha joined him onstage & all hell broke loose from then on. they were amazing dropping great tracks the rest of the night. amazing light show, too. the place was packed & the crowd was totally into their set. i managed to sneak up to the vip level early on where it was less crowded & more relaxed. terrific, friendly crowd, great set, in a pretty good club. the only downside, i left my jacket with my cell phone at coat check & forgot to pick it up when i left. ouch. i had to leave before the set ended. what time did they finish up?

so my friend told me they ended at 7am

diggers encore was the rolling stones track soulwax remix
sasha played something that was like 135bpm and it sorta left the crowd confused?
and also they played a mash-up of xpander/heaven scent (holy shit is that possible?)

The Vortex didnt open till about 3:30AM and only lasted for an hour or so. Mostly it was Sasha who impressed me. Im too Fucked up still to even give a good review. But one thing for sure... Webster Hall is a TERRIBLE venue.

I left at 6am, the lights, led panels, and music was amazing, not sure the other nights of the tour will as intense, but the crowd who stayed late were either dancing their ass off or in catatonic disbelief of how the music just got better and better.

All in all...I think I will be going back there some time soon

                      1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
                      2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.

i agree, sasha was hotter last night. went back to the club tonight to pick up my jacket & cell phone, security guy told me sasha & digweed played till 7am & the club closed at 8am. i thought webster hall was better than some recent new york clubs i've been in. crobar new york was truly a dump. so was avalon new york.

i was there for the whole thing and i thought the set was very solid. nothing too memorable but the last 2 hours were the best, as usual. the place was way too crowded for a long time but once the bar cut off it started to thin out. digweed opened with a nice groovy feeling nothing too dark and sasha i thought started off a little weak. then those guys got in a groove and it sent you spinning. and i wasn't even fucked up. then in true s & d fashion they brought it around for a 7am finish. that rolling stones record was the last tune of the night. you can tell those guys really love playing to a nyc crowd.
i really wish the floor would stop moving!
